for everyone

Fact:                I love traveling.

Problem:          I am paranoid.

Solution:          Pacsafe!

I always include a plan to keep my important documents and items safe when going on a trip. After all, who would want to spend their vacation at the Philippine embassy to process a replacement passport?

Some plans are no fun at all. Who would enjoy watching the bags by the shore while the others are frolicking in the sea?

So two items I don’t travel without is my Pacsafe backpack protector and my Pacsafe cable lock. I need these to make me feel secure so I can concentrate on enjoying the sights. I am happy to say, it have served me well through the years.

Most notable was an incident a few years back when we were backpacking in Luang Prabang (Laos). When we returned to the hotel one night, we could not open the door to our room even when the door knob has been unlocked. Hotel staff was just as perplexed and thought that the door was simply stuck. It turned out someone climbed to the 2nd floor balcony, entered our room and locked the door from the inside. But he forgot to remove the bar lock when he left.

We rushed to check our bags and found it intact and untouched. I doubt if the intruder even made an attempt to steal anything. Our backpack was covered by a steel mesh (Pacsafe backpack protector) which made the bag tamper proof.

The backpack itself was secured to the cabinet via a Pacsafe cable lock. A double whammy.

I am now considering expanding my “must travel with” gadgets to include a daysafe bag for business travel. It can thwart potential no-gooders from getting hold of my laptop.

Whether it be for business or leisure, Pacsafe is a permanent item in my packing list.
